Science Vs Nature (For Chris)

Standard

The nature of science

The mother of man in a speck

A carbon collision; a wreck

And explosion, an implosion-or faith?

The creation of all human race

REvising, rewriting the days

Has become an obsession, a craze

So crazy, on what we would dwell

The which we live in-a shell

Or a womb within which we dwell

Building to birth to unknown

Then cracked wide to sky we would search

looking to stardust, we query our birth

The nature of man is to ask

The nature of time-is to pass

And historians all will just pen

While men in white lab coats conduct us again

Billions and billions and billions

And yet we are only just here

Yet we push to always be searching

answering what?-that question’s unclear

Just carbon based atom filled lifeforms

looking to self, Earth and sky

Some smartly asking and telling us all “how”

Some smarter, just asking us “why?”

Surreality

I’m ten feet flying and I think I may be dying from sound

I’m fleeing to the air but I’m never even leaving the ground

And I think you may be laughing, but you never really pass on a joke

And passing on a passion, from memory I’ll fashion a yoke

So do unto me

And I will show you mine

Why can’t it be

Another little never mind

I am fleet foot sighing and I think I may be going to ground

Coulda been sweet sailing but I always had my failings abound

Now I’m done down drowning and I’m crowning in my own fragility

The sky is open maelstrom, beckoning the welcome to surreality

On Writing

Skipping, slipping, tripping, I’m tipping over the edge

And I’m ripping out the pages that come pouring out my head

And fighting, biting, writing, I’m righting all my wrong

Mathmatically inciting myself to paper songs
