I am an amalgamation of all that come before me. I am both the ending and beginning of a real-life redemption story. I am not a fairy-tale or a parable containing lessons to be learned. I am a messiah of a mess on a mission-carrying respect waiting to be earned. This is MY turn. I will set fire to the words that have previously bound me. Bind my fists with the split ends of the definitions that surround me. I will make of myself everything and nothing that you have ever expected and then I will reject it. I will take the potential that you’ve weighed on me for which I never asked, and I will take its full enormity and shove it up your ass. See, I never break but I shatter-and the scattered pieces left to be placed, they never really mattered.

Not my usual style (For OneStop)

Eerily, unearthly swell

Drives against the ear drum well

And swells into a thrumming hum

Telling you the tide has won

So pulling you into the sea

A breathless wash of floating free

And thickly, lungs wrapped wet in wool

Your chest concave against the pull

And empty sucking, impotent

Has breath from rushing water rent

Soon air-choked mind begins to thrash

As burning lungs from water splash

The cloying doom of  salty shroud

As passing looms in drifting down

But sudden does the reflex pass

And mind and form move to relax

So drifting pleasant can become

-Man and sea becoming one

It’s that time again! OneStopPoetry is having the Wednesday poetry share, and all are welcome to share if they like, or just come in and browse all the lovely work. Have fun! (and don’t forget to congratulate the team of OneStop for their much deserved shorty award!)

relief to write

No one thanks the sun for warming

Or the gentle earth for forming

Sweetest rain for falling

They take for granted calling

What lives to do it’s duty

No one thanks the sky for beauty

So no one’s thanking me for loving

And I can feel myself becoming

A part of back-drop scenery

A pretty bit of greenery

Like trees, at once were planted

Now are took at last for granted

Until fall comes to fruition

Then comes in a new transition

And fruit comes ripe for plucking

And the sounds of gentle sucking

On love-life gave quite freely

And thanks would be-ideally

Proffered after supping

Yet in the end, I’m cupping

My empty cup for sipping

Pretend to take, but slipping

And sighing, dropped bereftly

I take the love what’s left me

And thank me ever-kindly

-A shot at those who blindly

Take all without compensing

The one what does dispensing

Things just aren’t what they used to be

What they used to be

No more

Strung gone numb got the best of me

And the rest of me

For sure

Ain’t worth time, don’t invest in me

I contest the plea

No more

I cannot!

I will not!

I’ll leave you alone…

It’s not in

My Nature,

No, I’m better known

For pushing

And pressing

Til I get my way

And I never

Will move on

Til I’ve had my say

I approximate some sort of conscience

Since I’ve decided who I want to be

And I suppose I’m only disturbed since

I’ve dealt out divergence with ease

And diversions are all that I’m selling

Seem that’s all I’ve got down in my stock

Just pretend that it’s something compelling

And you’ll have all the buyers on lock

And locking from lies I need turn face

And gnashing what’s tight in my brain

No longer will will become misplaced

From divergence I need come restrained

So coming undone with the pressure

And the force of reality clear

I’m thinking what may be the best cure

Is to let go of wheel and not steer

From Yesterday’s Journal

I swallowed a tickle

It turned to a giggle

And now I am laughing out loud

My voice can be fickle

No serious to stick-will

Soon have me asking me how

Spare a word

Spare a dime

Spare a moment of my time

Could I provide

A smile for those eyes?

A voice unheard,

Like silent bells

Spoken words you know so well

No sense dwelling

On the the soul you’ve set to sell

On tan and tawny surface

the migrants make their purchase

So pink and thin

As they begin

To make their place of worship

But Gods oft lose their power

And giving gets to sour

Begetting spite

Upsets the might

Comes leaving hands devoured

Not like a brother

Something like friend

A could have been lover

If time didn’t spend

Itself rearranging

Down me in knots

And I’m left to explaining

How I haven’t got

Enough of the resourse

That all of us need

And my only recourse

To deal with the greed

That I feel in my own heart

As I look to you

Is to take me at whole part

And split me in two

And split-down, I’m leaving

One part by your side

With all of me grieving

I hope you’ll survive

Then I laugh at the ego…

My matter’s quite small

Because part of me just knows

I don’t matter at all

I’d like to speak plain for a moment

Just throw all metaphor away

But something inside of me knows that

If I did I’d have nothing to say

Take away gilt-wrapped-up trappings

Take down all meter and rhyme

And you’ll see all I’ve built come collapsing

Some moments arent built to stand time
